Male Pelvic Health
Yes, men can experience pelvic health issues too - and we’re here to support you every step of the way!
At Pelvic Fit Melbourne, we offer treatment for the following pelvic health conditions:
Pre and Post prostatectomy - Pelvic floor physiotherapy and bladder retraining to support improved continence following surgery
Bladder conditions - Bladder pain, urgency, frequency as well as voiding difficulties (e.g., difficulty initiating flow, disrupted flow, incomplete emptying)
Bowel conditions - Constipation, faecal urgency with/without leakage, incomplete bowel emptying, bowel frequency
Proctalgia fugax - Sudden onset of severe rectal pain, caused by involuntary spasm of the pelvic floor or anal sphincter muscles. The pain is often described as sharp or stabbing—like a knife in the rectum—and typically lasts from a few seconds to several minutes.
Chronic pelvic pain - Pain in the pelvic region that persists for 3 to 6 months or longer. It can have a range of contributing factors, including previous injury, nerve sensitivity or damage, pelvic floor hypertension and psychological influences such as stress or anxiety.
